Scottys AST 5200 Review

Five years ago, I started out with a set of AST 5100 1-Way adjustable coilovers on my 2011 STI, and I was instantly hooked on their feel and ride quality from the beginning. As I progressed as a driver, I realized I needed to upgrade my suspension so that I could run a higher spring rate and get more damping adjustment, etc. In looking at my options, I decided to try out the AST 5200 2-Way Adjustable coilovers to gain both compression and rebound adjustment, and I decided to have them valved for a higher spring rate as AST was building them.
Flatirons Tuning worked with AST directly to make sure that my 5200's were built exactly as I wanted, and they absolutely delivered.
The AST 5200's came with remote reservoirs which increased the volume of fluid in the damper, and that is also what allowed for the addition of the compression adjustability. The custom valving, higher spring rates, and the ability to adjust both compression and rebound behavior of the suspension made a world of difference on track. The quality of AST coilovers is second only to their bigger brother MOTON Suspension, and I know that these AST 5200's will continue to work flawlessly and take whatever I can throw at them for years to come.
