Matt Campbell, Dirk Werner and Dennis Olsen of Porsche celebrate after winning the Bathurst 12 Hour.
In a thrilling, down-to-the-wire final lap, the #912 EBM Porsche crew won the Bathurst 12 Hour race by a 3.441s margin. The win was initially under investigation due to a bump-and-run inside the last hour, but was ultimately cleared as a legal maneuver, maintaining the win for the Porsche team. Third place was decided by 2/10ths of a second, while the top seven racers all finished within 1min of each other.
Campbell, who placed second in the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2017 and fourth in 2018, said that this year's race was "a highlight of my career," stating "I've done this race six times and been so close the last two years with Porsche. To finally get the victory, the last time with (the 911 GT3 R), it's just phenomenal."
