Can you install an 8HP Transmission into a Subaru? Part 1

The ZF 8HP automatic transmission is quickly getting the reputation as the transmission that can do anything.  It is a planetary gear style automatic which means that it can shift gears nearly as quickly as a Dual Clutch transmission.

But it can also hold a lot of power.

There are also versions that are for Rear Wheel Drive cars, as well as All Wheel Drive.

And if you look at where the front differential is placed on the AWD 8HP transmissions, this would absolutely be a way for Subaru to move the engine back in the chassis if there were to consider putting one of these in a new chassis.

In this first video, we are going to look at the possibilities that this transmission might offer Subaru if they would consider switching to this instead of a CVT in a future model, and we also take an initial look at how different the 8HP is from an STI 6-Speed transmission to get an idea of how likely it might be to install this into a Subaru chassis.
