Bearing Failure, but not that one...

Rod Bearing Failure is something that is discussed a lot when it comes to Subarus.  That telltale ticking from the engine bay is a sound that none of us ever look forward to hearing.

Spencer from the shop was just getting home and was about to pull into his garage when he started to hear a ticking noise.  He opened the hood and it was clearly coming from the engine.  Unfortunately, Spencer had been here once before so he had a pretty good idea what had just happened.

We have Spencers car in the shop and the goal is to go through the engine to try to find what may have happened to cause this bearing failure, and then to get the car back up and running and in the process, see if we can do anything to make sure that this doesn't happen again.

The odd thing with Spencer's car is that this is exactly what he did the last time.  He had installed a Killer-B pickup and oil pan, with an IAG Street Series AOS to try to make sure that his oiling system was going to be reliable, but now he has had another failure after about 33,000 miles.

The tear down begins and see what we find here in part 1.
