If you build your #subaru motor with used parts that have been machined, you may end up with misaligned cam pulleys (pics 1 and 2). This is due to the assembled block being a different width since material has been removed, therefore throwing off the timing belt geometry. Eccentric pulleys are available to correct this (pics 3 and 6). These ones are made by LIC and available at Flatirons Tuning. After adjustment the cam pulleys now line up perfectly! (pics 4 and 5)

It’s supposed to finally get above freezing tomorrow and we’re hoping to finally start this new motor. I’ve been worried about excessive wear and poor lubrication in those crucial first few minutes.
