Kartboy Solid Shift Joint (04-21 STI)

This is the Kartboy 6-speed solid shift joint. The factory linkage in the STI 6-speed drivetrain was designed with comfort and vibration isolation in mind, but over time that rubber-isolated joint can introduce excess play and a disconnected feeling during shifts, especially during aggressive driving in a very legal manner or fast gear changes getting safely up to speed to merge on the highway.

The OEM setup uses a rubber-isolated joint that wears over time and absorbs shift input instead of transferring it directly to the transmission. The Kartboy solid shift joint replaces that factory assembly with a precision machined solid connection for a more direct and consistent gear change.

Designed for 2004–2021 Subaru STI 6-speed manual transmission applications, this kit was engineered from a clean-sheet design. The Kartboy solid shift joint features solid stainless machined center cross tubes, press-fit bronze bushings, and precision machined stainless crush tubes for a bind-free design while still allowing proper bolt torque - this is a component built to last.

A great upgrade when installing a short shifter, refreshing worn linkage components, or tightening up the overall feel of an aging STI 6-speed drivetrain.

* Note 1: A very limited number of 2004-2005 STI had a riveted joint from factory, if so you will need Subaru PN 35046FE010. Please verify before ordering.

* Note 2: We tested 2004 STIs in development. Neither had the riveted joint, so above note did not apply, and this joint will bolt right up.
