Verus Carbon Driveshaft (13+ BRZ)

Reduce drive line slack and rotational weight by over half with our lightweight carbon fiber driveshaft.  Frequency balanced, strict carbon to epoxy ratio, and tested to 5000nm (3600+ft.lbs) of torque!  The tube itself is constructed of multiple layers of carbon fiber, with a strict 76% carbon to 24% epoxy ratio, which leads to a stronger and lighter unit.  The ends are made from 7075-T6 aluminum with high quality u-joints as well.  Frequency balance ensures the driveshaft doesn't vibrate while in use.

Exclusive Benefits:

  • Weight savings of ~55%
  • Strict 76% carbon to 24% epoxy shaft
  • Specific weave pattern designed for high torque
  • 7075-T6 cold forged, heat treated, and anti-oxidation treatment joint aluminum ends
  • High quality joints
  • Frequency balanced assembly
  • Rated for 5000 n-m of torque
  • Fatique test passed 100,000 cycles at 2000 n-m of torque

Why Verus (pronounced Veh-rus)? Verus is Latin for true or complete. We strongly believe in engineering as a whole. We are also a company comprised primarily of engineers. We wanted to bring our passion for engineering to our name. In 2014, a group of Motorsports engineers joined together and began a journey into revolutionizing the components available to the aftermarket industry. The group of engineers comprised in Verus Engineering have a wide range of previous and ongoing knowledge within the Motorsports world. We have worked within IndyCar teams and the sanctioning body, NASCAR teams, World Endurance Car (WEC) teams, as leading suppliers to the Motorsports industry, and in leading aftermarket companies as well. This vast experience allows us to cater to many needs within the automotive industry. With thoroughly engineered components including the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), thermodynamics, heat transfer, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), we strive to produce aftermarket parts that can outperform the factory components. We are proud partners with ANSYS; utilizing the best analysis software in the world allows us to provide our customers the best products on market.

Carbon Construction:

  • Strict 76% to 24% carbon to epoxy ratio is utlized
  • Dual filament windings based on Formula One class manufacturing technology
  • Raw carbonfiber material is from Toray in Japan (same carbon supplier as Nissan GT-R's OEM carbon driveshaft)
  • Military Grade T700 24k Carbon Fiber, which is used on missile bodies and high pressure fuel tanks
  • Cured in an autoclave mold to closely control temperature and pressure bonding

Testing:

  • Rated for 5000 n-m of torque
  • Fatigue tested at 2000 n-m/cycle for 100,000 cycles
  • Balance tested between 8,000 and 10,000 RPM
  • Similar BMW models have passed over 10,000 RPM and 200 MPH without vibration or failure

Vehicle Fitment:

  • 2013+ BRZ - Manual Transmission
