The 2002 + Turbo EJ Series all have 4 idler pulleys and a hydraulic tensioner to maintain proper tension in the timing belt. When you are replacing your timing belt, it is necessary to inspect all of these pulleys, and either replace any that show wear or replace them all together. We have put together a kit for all the pulley’s together, or you can purchase them individually as needed. Please note that there is a small pulley, a cogged pulley, and the two smooth pulley’s are identical. So if you want to replace them both, you would need to purchase two. The part numbers are as follows: Cogged Pulley – 13085AA080 Smooth Pulley – 13073AA142 Small Pulley for 2002 – early 2003 WRX – 13073AA200 Small Pulley for Late 2003 on Turbo EJ Series Engines – 13073AA230 Though there are two different small pulley’s, they are interchangeable if you replace the bolt that attaches the up-dated pulley. Because we feel that the newer pulley is a better design, all of our kits include that pulley with the necessary bolt, and all of the later small pulleys that are sold individually come with that bolt as well.
